Winter Training

Our winter training sessions on a Wednesday night are split 50:50 between fitness and ball handling skills. The first half hour is a fitness session, this comprises agility and speedwork drills focussing on fast feet and good body control in touch related scenarios. These are combined with sprints and shuttle runs to enhance speed endurance.

The second half hour comprises drills to improve basic ball handling and communication skills along with a variety of touch specific drills. These can be passing drills, scooping/dumping drills or touch specific moves for both attack and defence.

Training is carried out on the fantastic floodlit 3rd generation all weather pitch at Wallace High School. We'll be there in all weathers so dress for the worst!

These evenings are all about improving yourself. You only get out what you put into these sessions. But don’t panic we're not expecting sub 10 second 100metres! We have complete beginners through to international players. Go at your own pace and to your own limits. Above all else enjoy yourself!

Winter Team brave a cold February night!
